He created the aquatint engravings for Franco Maria Ricci\u2019s <em data-start=\"365\" data-end=\"375\">Casanova<\/em>, the comics <em data-start=\"388\" data-end=\"402\">De Satyricon<\/em> published by Rizzoli, and <em data-start=\"429\" data-end=\"456\">Quadri di Divina Commedia<\/em> published by Milano Libri.<\/p>\r\n<p data-start=\"485\" data-end=\"587\">He has worked with numerous publishing houses and illustrated for <em data-start=\"551\" data-end=\"563\">Paese Sera<\/em>, <em data-start=\"565\" data-end=\"577\">L\u2019Espresso<\/em>, and RAI. His figurative language combines the Western pictorial tradition with Japanese influences, through a distinctive use of colour, gold leaf, and dense, layered materiality.<\/p>\r\n<p data-start=\"761\" data-end=\"882\">His works have been shown in solo exhibitions in Italy and abroad, including New York, Takayama, Wil, Arles, and Hamburg. He was included among the 87 most significant artists of the 20th century in the multimedia work <em data-start=\"981\" data-end=\"1009\">Great 20th Century Artists<\/em>.<\/p>\r\n<p data-start=\"1012\" data-end=\"1114\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">He lives and works between Palermo and Rome, and his works are held in public and private collections.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Beppe Madaudo was born in Palermo in 1950 and trained at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome.
