Il moro di Palermo

Il moro di Palermo was a solo exhibition in Rome, documented by a catalogue with 43 colour plates and an introductory text by Luigi Russo. The title brings together two recurring elements in Madaudo’s imagery: his Palermo roots and the human figure as a symbolic, rather than merely narrative, presence. The exhibition can therefore be read as part of a painting practice in which identity, memory and theatrical imagery merge into a dense and evocative figuration.
