The exhibition space of Palazzo S. Elia will host, from Friday, September 28, No Comment, an exhibition by the Palermo-born painter Beppe Madaudo, sponsored by the Province as part of the fifteenth edition of Provincia in Festa. The exhibition, open to visitors until October 28, will be inaugurated at 7:30 p.m. by the President of the Province, Giovanni Avanti, in the presence of the artist.

No Comment presents a broad survey of forty years of activity by the Palermo-born painter, who returns to exhibit in his city after his early artistic beginnings. Around 150 works, created using oil on wooden panel, take wood as their starting point and, through the use of particular resins, become at times bas-reliefs, at times sculptures in the round or bronzes — yet always and in every case imbued with colour, a colour that unfailingly lies at the foundation of all the artist’s forms of expression.

The title of the exhibition stems from the need to give space to the power of images. By presenting the archetypes of his production, including certain elements belonging to his private sphere, such as his bed, the artist seeks to reveal the most secret and intimate side of his work: a tribute to his city, offered with the greatest humility, but also with the utmost commitment and determination.

With No Comment, the artist wants images, matter, and colour to be the sole witnesses of a journey in which words are excluded, allowing space only for emotion — an emotion that may thus arise freely and uncontaminated within each of us.
