Römische Geschichten

Römische Geschichten is one of Madaudo’s early significant international exhibitions listed in his official biography, held in Hamburg at AMSA / Hauskapelle. The show appears to belong to an important transitional phase: Madaudo was coming from a strong background in comics and illustration, while already moving toward an autonomous painting practice shaped by memory, narrative and theatrical image construction. The venue is relevant because Axel Michael Sallowsky’s AMSA-Galerie, active in Hamburg from 1987 until mid-1998, hosted hundreds of exhibitions and cultural events.
